Patil, Wani, Bhalla accorded rousing reception at Jammu Party Headquarters

AICC Incharge J&K Smt. Rajni Patil (MP) along with newly appointed President J&K Pradesh Congress Committee Shri Vikar Rasool Wani and Working President Shri Raman Bhalla were accorded rousing welcome on their arrival at the Jammu Airport today by the large number of Congress leaders and workers assembled there and en-route amidst raising of slogans in their favour and the Congress party. They were taken in open vehicle profusely garlanded to the PCC headquarters followed by a long cavalcade of vehicles. Leaders of the Congress party and workers welcomed them at the party HQ and raising slogans of “Indian National Congress” ‘zindabad’ Madam Sonia Gandhi Zindabad, Rahul Gandhi Zindabad, Rajni Patil Zindabad and Vikar Raool Wani Zindabad.

Addressing the gathering Smt. Rajni Patil said that Congress party is steadfast on its principles, policies and programmes and shall continue to fight communal, divisive and wrong

Policies of Modi Govt. She appreciated the Congress workers and leaders who were on the street for the last eight years against the anti people policies of Modi Govt. during all these years. She said that the loyal party workers shall keep the flag of the party high in every situation. She said that no defection shall weaken the party and it will emerge stronger. She said that party has given everything to some top leaders in an oblique reference to Shri Ghulam Nabi Azad and said that party made him MP, Minister, LOP and several top positions in the party. She asked the party leaders and workers to work unitedly to strengthen the party under the leadership of Smt. Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.

Addressing the gathering newly appointed PCC President Mr. Vikar Rasool Wani thanked Congress President Smt. Sonia Gandhi, Shri Rahul Gandhi and Smt. Rajni Patil for giving him chance to serve the party at this crucial time and said that a new breed of leadership shall emerge in J&K as some old guards are changing loyalty vacating space for new leadership to come up. He indirectly referred to Ghulam Nabi Azad and said that he was given everything in the party in last 45 years but he has left the party at crucial time. He thanked the party leaders and workers for giving him rousing reception today from airport to Congress HQ Shahidi Chowk Jammu.

Mr. Raman Bhalla who was reinducted as Working President expressed gratitude to party high command and thanked the large number of workers who gave him rousing reception from Airport to Shahidi Chowk today. He said that those who are sitting cousier room for last eight years when the congress leaders and workers were fighting on streets against the Modi Government’s policies and leaving the party, while those on streets are still with congress and present here. He said Congress is not dependent on leaders but on grass root workers of the party. He hit out at Ghulam Nabi Azad for leaving the party at this stage and praising Prime Minister Modi who has demolished Jammu and Kashmir State and taken away our rights. He also referred to the casualty of 700 farmers during agitation and poor people during demonetization and questioned “Insaniat” remark of Ghulam Nabi Azad regarding Prime Minister Modi. He also asked the party leaders and workers to be united to strengthen the party and assured full support to newly appointed president.

Former Minister and General Secretary Incharge Jammu Dist. Yogesh Sawhney who accompanied Smt. Rajni Patil and Sh. Vikar Rasool Wani from Airport to Shahidi Chwok and coordinated the reception, Shri Neeraj Kundan National President NSUI and number of senior leaders were present in Office and welcomed the newly appointed PCC President along with Working President to resume office.

Senior leaders of the party including Senior functionaries of PCC, frontal organizations PYC, Mahila Congress, Seva Dal & INTUC, DCC presidents, Ex-ministers, legislators and prominent activists and hundreds of workers greeted Vikar Rasool Wani, who arrived here for the

first time, after appointed PCC Chief.

Later, Senior PCC leaders, congratulated Shri Vikar Rasool Wani for taking over as President and Shri Raman Bhalla as Working President of J&K Pradesh Congress Committee and thanked the Hon’ble AICC President Sonia Gandhi, Hon’ble Vice President Shri Rahul Gandhi, Smt. Rajni Patil AICC Incharge J&K Affairs for appointing Shri Wani and Bhalla to head the J&K PCC. The speakers extended their full co-operation and support to them to strengthen Congress unit in the state as per wishes of the Congress high command.
